We can be so SILLY!

Just have to tell this story.....
Driving to Arkansas last Spring to visit Connie we made a bad choice to drive through the night to get as far as we could and spend the night. WELLLLL....we got a little silly that night. Jeanne, Becky and Libby saw a ROSS in North Texas (which we refer to as "Lord and Ross" because it's our favorite place to shop)...we decided to pull in and shop a little bit. We had @ 30 mins. before the store closed. We were rushing through shopping away in order to get out of there by closing.
Libby happened to be looking through the clearance aisle and found a BUNCH of dresses all alike....and they were less than $10.00 each!!!! Then our little pea (tired) brains got to working and we started laughing....knowing that we might get "thrown out" of our favorite store - we tried to control ourselves. We could ONLY find FOUR dresses.....we wanted one for Marsha too so we could bring her home one as she got sick and missed the trip.
We decided since we were meeting Connie/Michael's best couple friend one night of the stay at their house that we'd pull a "fast one" on him. Mike is a BIG cut up and always having one up on everyone.
SO....here goes....you are NOT going to believe how silly this was.
The FOUR of us put on these glorious dresses (I forgot to mention that the 2 pieces were sizes 1X and 2X so we had the skirt pinned up to keep from falling off!!!!)
When Mike and Debbie arrived at the Feagin's home....we all 4 went out "separately" to greet them in these 'gosh awful dresses'....Mike didn't say a word ..... Debbie didn't say a word....finally, I don't know who started the conversation about how "WE ARE SUCH GOOD FRIENDS THAT WE LOVE TO DRESS ALIKE"! We just talked on and on and finally they realized we were pulling something on them. They got a good laugh out of it and we went and changed clothes!
It gets better...........
The next day we were out running around the little town where Connie lives and we went to another favorite of ours "Goody's" (which now has closed in many of towns)....shopping around and having a great ole time. Someone SPOTTED blue shells with a HOT PINK FLAMINGO right on the front!!! (See below reference to Flamingos & 49er's)
OH MY GOSH.....we ALL bought a blue top with the flamingo and then the little pea brains started thinking again......
We were having dinner at Mike and Debbie's house tonight..............let's ALL WEAR the tops to Mike and Debbie's house and be dressed alike again!!! Laughing hysterically, we almost got kicked out of Goody's this time!!!!!!!!!!
So, later than night we all drove over to Mike and Debbie's and walked in with the same blue top on.....again, neither one said anything! Poor Michael had to endure us that weekend!! Again, we discussed that we all enjoyed dressing alike since we were such GREAT friends! I know Mike was not knowing what to think about us! Debbie had given up and loved us anyway!!!
Later, we told them the truth - that we DON'T dress alike everywhere we go and that we were pulling a big FUNNY JOKE (at least to us) on Mike. Now, Mike's got to come up with something better to get us someday!!!
What a FUN weekend we had........and traveling there was just a hoot. We had a TomTom for the first time and I had set it to "MOO" when passing schools as I didn't want to get a ticket in a school zone and "COO COO" when passing shopping areas so we could be alerted to "shopping". So, it mooed and mooed and we'd laugh and laugh. THEN, we were out in the middle of NOWHERE in North TX or South ARK and trees everywhere, both sides of the road.....suddenly TomTom "MOOED"......we cackled and cracked up...thinking what the heck there's nothing out here.....then, I said "HOME SCHOOL"! Well, we almost went off the road and ended our lives that night right there! Just hysterical and if you are NOT laughing....then, you are not used to having FUN like we are! (Or, 'you had to be there' as my kids say).
Then, we got SO tired as Jeanne and Libby had worked all day and left after work.....we just got so silly that we laughed til tears coming out of our eyes ... all the way to the motel where we slept a few hours before getting up to finish the trip to Connie's house.
What silly girls we can be.....that's what friends are for ..... laughing, crying, fussing, being silly together and we still love each other "unconditionally".
LOVE YOU GIRL FRIENDS......can anyone find the "blue flamingo top" picture made in Ark.? I'll add it if you have it.

  1. The picture of you 4 in those "Lord & Ross" dresses ALMOST makeup for my not getting to go on the trip! (Could we please take a new GROUP picture for the blog - everyone looks great in their hats EXCEPT ME!)
Love you all but not enough to wear a Lord & Ross dress!
